First Potomac made the decision to pursue LEED during the planning phase of the project, allowing the team to begin discussing and incorporating sustainable features into the building’s design. 440 First Street was originally seeking LEED Gold certification. With the team’s dedication, attention to detail, and the installation of a highly efficient HVAC system the project was able to exceed its goal to achieve a LEED Platinum certification.
