The Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C. (French: Ambassade du Canada à Washington) is Canada’s main diplomatic mission to the United States. The embassy building is located at 501 Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C. The Embassy additionally handles consular services for the immediate surrounding states of: Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. It is a 6 story 308,000 square foot building the offers office and assembling space for all the consulate’s needs.
The Embassy of Canada brought together many people and departments within this large organization to collaborate on their building-wide sustainability program, including the building’s operations and maintenance plans and policies. With this diligent team work, the building achieved an Energy Star certification and LEED EB O&M Gold certification during 2014.
