Lorax Partnerships, LLC is seeking new talent to join our team.  Now, in our 15th year, we continue to expand our portfolio of more than 200 completed projects, and are looking to increase our capacity to support our expanding services and growing project workload.  

We are seeking enthusiastic, self-driven, service oriented individuals to fill Project Management and Business Administrative positions. The candidates we select shall be people oriented, highly organized, and enjoy working in teams.  Candidates for consideration will possess strong writing and verbal communications skills in a business environment. Proficiency with business office software such as MS Office products is a must.

Lorax Partnerships provides sustainability and green building consulting services to building developers, owners, and occupants, as well as business owners, architects, and other real estate professionals interested in improving the environmental performance of their company, building or development project.

Our motivated and experienced project managers furnish building owners and developers with a single and knowledgeable point of contact for sustainable design, construction, and facilities management practices.

We work with organizations to integrate sustainability into overall business strategies through corporate environmental consulting; advising on waste management, energy usage, and operational efficiency.

We have depth and breadth of experience across a number of green building codes, standards, and rating systems.  Since our establishment in 2003, we have helped to streamline and expedite the building certification process for our clients in order to achieve their sustainability goals.

Business Administrative Assistant

Position Description:

This position provides broad company support for business development, service delivery, and company operations.   The primary role of the Administrative Assistant is to centralize management of day-to-day operational tasks in support of the various business units in the company.  

Administrative Duties:

  • Support the company’s Business Development process with tracking of leads and proposal pipeline, and assist with the coordination of proposal delivery schedules.
  • Provide direct support to the Managing Director with administrative functions relative to managing, tracking and billing of client projects and other internal company initiatives.
  • Maintain company and contact information relative to client’s projects, partners, and other organizations in the company Database.
  • Assist in maintaining company standards and procedures, templates and other support documents and disseminate updates as needed.
  • Receive and process all incoming external communications to the company through phone, email and website inquires.
  • Compile and distribute monthly Client and Lorax Management progress reports, and assist in tracking project issues and exceptions to completion. 
  • Proficiency with business office software such as Microsoft Office products is a must.

Project Manager

Position Description:

The primary role of a Project Manager (PM) is to direct and organize people and manage deliverables in order to reach a specific outcome. At Lorax, how a project is defined can vary, and may include supporting or managing specific internal company goals. However, in most instances a project will be a finite scope of work on behalf of a customer.   It is the PM’s primary role to effectively manage the delivery of all elements of contractual scope to the client’s satisfaction, while completing billable deliverables on time and in an efficient manner.

An effective PM must focus on managing people, and should possess a broad view and understanding of each team member’s role in order for project goals to be reached.  Much of a PM’s job involves developing and maintaining an action plan and an aggregable schedule, ensuring the appropriate resources are in place, roles are understood, and all activities are thoroughly managed through completion.

Position Evaluation Criteria:  

  • A background or experience in commercial real estate markets, design and construction industries, or commercial facilities and operations is desired.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams. The position requires a highly responsive, people-friendly, and service oriented attitude.
  • Strong organization skills, the ability to clearly articulate objectives, prioritize and manage and effectively track tasks and team progress.
  • Strong research and analysis skills. The candidate should be able to learn new methods quickly, translate complicated terminology into simple understandable terms and deliver in a fast paced, decision driven environment.
  • Presentation and speaking skills or experience facilitating projects and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams is highly desired.
  • Clear, concise and effective writing skills is a must. Professional writing skills and previous experience producing reports, studies, white papers or proposals is a plus.  
  • Level of knowledge in sustainability and green buildings concepts, and familiarity with the sustainable methods, technologies, products and services.
  • Previous project management experience preferably with large multi-disciplinary teams. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus, though is not specifically required.
  • Proficiency with business office software such as Microsoft Office products is a must.
