Clifton Mansion is the home of Civic Works, Baltimore’s urban service corps and an AmeriCorps program.  Civic Works builds brighter futures by placing participants in job training opportunities and provides service experience for volunteers, particularly in weatherization, construction, and healthcare industries.  Its new roof, rainwater-removal system, geothermal heat pumps, and efficient HVAC system, as well as specialized restoration techniques to recover original finishes, have all improved and repaired the building from the many different uses over the last several decades. Case Study

Building 60 is part of the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter. This state of the art district is home to a variety of academic institutions and companies, and fosters research and education in biomedical science, IT, clinical services, and digital media. Building 60 adds over 300,000 square feet of additional laboratory and office space in a major renovation of a historic building, and care was taken to maintain the historic integrity of the existing structure.

8100 Potranco Road is a state of the art office building within in a 3-building campus, located in San Antonio, Texas. The building is designed for the use of the Federal Government. As such, the work that goes on within the office building is often related to matters of national importance; therefore, a priority of the project team was to design for safety and security. As evidenced herein, the Potranco Road Business Park represents ongoing sustainability efforts on the part of the Owner and acts as a shining example for other commercial office building developments.  Case Study

The building is a six story blast-rated office building, meaning the structure can withstand an explosive attack. The building’s skin is comprised of blast-hardened architectural precast concrete with punch windows. These safety precautions have been taken to protect the office building, as it predominantly houses government workers and government contractors due to its proximity to Fort Meade. Case Study

Knorr Brake, a manufacturing facility of brakes, doors, and HVAC systems for the Mass Transit Rail Industry, achieved LEED Gold in 2014.  Their 865 kW Photo Voltaic solar array installed on their 100,000 square foot rooftop, contributed significantly to their energy savings.

With the team’s dedication, attention to detail, and the installation of a highly efficient HVAC system the project was able to exceed its goal to achieve a LEED Platinum certification.
