Tim Barranco

LEED AP BD+C, NGBS Master Verifier

Principal, Sustainability Director

Tim is a Principal and the Sustainability Director at Lorax Partnerships, having joined the team in 2015 with a background in environmental engineering and construction. He brings a passion for high-performance building design to every project, whether it’s a New York City skyscraper or an off-grid cabin. His strong working knowledge of green programs, building codes, and financial incentives allows Lorax to deliver creative solutions and unparalleled value for our clients. Tim is a relentless advocate for a net zero future and deeply committed to bringing affordable, equitable design to the communities where Lorax works — one building at a time.

Beyond his day-to-day role, Tim collaborates with industry organizations including the US Green Building Council, the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment, and Home Innovation Research Labs to further the green building industry. He speaks with students about career paths in sustainability, and volunteers time with local environmental groups. And he is the proud owner and designer of Baltimore City’s first LEED Platinum, NGBS Emerald & Net-Zero Energy home, a project purpose-built to show that sustainability and affordability can coexist, because we need green buildings for all.
